چکیده
Peracetic acid (PAA) is widely used as a sterilizing/disinfecting agent, and, in endodontics, it has been introduced promising irrigant root canal treatment. It at different concentrations to achieve various functions. However, endodontic instruments contact with PAA of certain concentration may affect their fatigue resistance. Therefore, the aim this study was investigate impact on cyclic resistance three commercial heat-treated nickel-titanium (NiTi) rotary files. Three types NiTi files were selected: One Curve (OC), ProTaper Gold (PTG), and Wave (WOG). Each type divided into subgroups (n = 6 for each file type): (1) untreated instruments; (2) immersed 0.002% PAA; (3) 0.35% PAA. The performance tested simulated canal. number cycles fracture (NCF) determined assess Independent sample t-test applied compare treated within subgroup its respective control group, one-way ANOVA comparison among main groups. All revealed significant decline after exposure except PTG ( P = 0.209 ). After higher (0.35% PAA), dramatic reduction demonstrated by all Before PAA, displayed highest resistance, followed WOG, while OC showed lowest Exposure heated-treated relatively high or low adversely affects best can be disinfected clinical purpose.

Since the end of the nineteenth century, automated root canal instrumentation has been available, but systems had many problems. The challenges of increased canal blockage, instrument breakage, and insufficient canal debridement were related to the use of stainless steel instruments and have been dramatically improved with the introduction of nickel-titanium (NiTi) files. The first useable NiTi...
متن کاملEffect of Deep Cryogenic Treatment on Cyclic Fatigue of Endodontic Rotary Nickel Titanium Instruments
INTRODUCTION Cyclic fatigue is the common reason for breakage of rotary instruments. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of cryogenic treatment (CT) in improving the resistance to cyclic fatigue of endodontic rotary instruments. METHODS AND MATERIALS In this in vitro study, 20 RaCe and 20 Mtwo files were randomly divided into two groups of negative control and CT. CT files were st...
متن کاملCyclic Flexural Fatigue Resistance of the Revo-s Rotary Nickel-titanium Endodontic Files
Resistance to cyclic flexural fatigue failure is an important feature of rotary nickel-titanium (NiTi) instruments. The aim of this study was to evaluate the cyclic flexural fatigue failure resistance of RevoS Shaper Universal rotary NiTi files and to compare it to two other rotary NiTi files with similar size and taper, the Hero Shaper and the ProFile. Fifteen each of Revo-S Shaper Universal, ...
متن کاملPredicting in vivo failure of rotary nickel-titanium endodontic instruments under cyclic fatigue.
The aim of this study was to examine the lifespan or number of cycles to failure of tapered rotary nickel-titanium (Ni-Ti) endodontic instruments. Simulated root canals with different curvatures were used to determine a relation between canal curvature and instrument lifespan. Using a novel mathematical model for the deformation of pseudoelastic Ni-Ti alloy, it was shown that maximum stress nee...
متن کاملCyclic fatigue testing of nickel-titanium endodontic instruments.
Cyclic fatigue of nickel-titanium, engine-driven instruments was studied by determining the effect of canal curvature and operating speed on the breakage of Lightspeed instruments. A new method of canal curvature evaluation that addressed both angle and abruptness of curvature was introduced. Canal curvature was simulated by constructing six curved stainless-steel guide tubes with angles of cur...
